Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Livingston will be aiming to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hibernian when they take on St Johnstone on Saturday. The Lions have been in a fine form of late, and, as a result, the bookies see them as slim favourites to beat the Saints in front of home fans. Max Stryjek is back from suspension, while Tom Parkes is out for the rest of the season. The Saints, on the other hand, will almost surely compete in the Championship next term.
St Johnstone are eight points behind the safe zone, and given Livingston’s fine form, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. Both Tony Gallacher and Craig Bryson are injured for the visiting side, while all MacPherson, May, and Middleton are pushing for a start. In their last meeting in the Premiership St Johnstone defeated Livingston, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Craig Sibbald):
Craig Sibbald is a Scottish footballer who plays for Livingston as a midfielder. Sibbald started his senior career at Falkirk, and after scoring 30 goals in 214 appearances for the Bairns, he signed a two-year contract with Livingston in the summer of 2018.
Craig Sibbald made his Scotland Premier League debut on September 30, 2018, in a 1-0 loss to Rangers. Four months later, he scored his first goal in the Scottish top flight, finding the net in a 3-1 win over St Mirren. Craig Sibbald has three caps with the Scotland U16 team while making two appearances for the Scotland U17 side. He wears the number 10 shirt at Livingston, and his preferred foot is left.
Sibbald’s main position is attacking midfield, but he is used as a left winger as well. The Scottish footballer has a contract with Livingston until July 1, 2018. In August 2011, he was named the Scottish Football League Young Player of the Month.
Highlighted Team (St Johnstone):
Founded back in 1884, St. Johnstone are Scottish football club that welcome their rivals at McDiarmid Park. The venue, which was opened in August 1989, can hold up to 10,696 spectators. Blue and white are the dominant colours of St Johnstone’s home kit, whereas they wear yellow shirts and white shorts when playing on the road.
The club’s biggest success came in the 2013/2014 season when they defeated Dundee United 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final. Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean scored for the Saints in the match played at Celtic Park, Glasgow. Dundee and Dundee United are the club’s traditional rivals, with the teams facing in the Tayside derbies.
The likes of John Brogan, Joe Carr, Willie Coburn, Roddy Grant, and Henry Hall are the first five members of St Johnston “Hall of Fame.” The Saints recorded their biggest win against Tulloch (13-0) in September 1887, with the team suffering their heaviest defeat to Montrose (11-1) in April 1893.
