Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Monday’s football game between Real Valladolid and Almeria will bring down the curtain on day 4 of the new La Liga campaign. La Pucela faced a tough fixture list in the first three games of the season, with the team collecting only one point from possible nine, but they are surely capable of matching Almeria on home soil. Both Plano and Mesa are pushing for a start after the duo came from the bench in a 4-0 loss to Barcelona, while Plata and Weissman have yet to recover from their respective injuries.
The Andalusians, on the other hand, proved their worth in a come-from-behind win over Sevilla, but beating La Pucela on the road is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, the share of spoils is on the cards. Defender Alex Centelles remains in the recovery room, while midfielder Inigo Eguaras is sidelined with an ankle problem.
Highlighted Player (Shon Weissman):
After spending his youth career Maccabi Haifa, Shon Weissman continued wearing the green and white shirt at senior level. The 174-tall forward scored 8 goals in 32 appearances in the league for the Greens before joining Wolfsberger in 2019.
It has to be noted, though, that he played for the likes of Hapoel Acre, Maccabi Netanya and Ironi Kiryat Shmona on loan as well from 2015 to 2018. Born in Haifa on February 14, 1996 the Israeli footballer has yet to make his senior debut with the Israel national team, but he has two caps with the U21 team. Speaking of his career at Wolfsberger, Shon Weissman made his Austrian Bundesliga debut on July 27, 2019 in a 3-0 win at Admira.
Weissman opened his goal-scoring account on the same day, finding the net twice in the BSFZ-Arena clash. His main position is centre-forward, but he is capable of playing as both second striker and right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
