Our prediction for this Serie B match:
All eyes will be on Stadio Paolo Mazza when Spal and Genoa face each other in the Serie B derby. The Gli Spalini aim to climb to the playoffs berth, but they will have a big fish to fry against the promotion-chasing visitors. Marco Varnier, who limped off with injury in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Como, has joined Alessandro Tripaldelli in the recovery room.
The Rossoblu, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Modena, and given their fine away record (2-0-1), we predict that the visitors are going to pick up all three points from Saturday’s showdown. Since there are no fresh injury worries in the away team, boss Alexander Blessin is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated Modena before the international window. In their last meeting in the Italian second tier Genoa outplayed Spal 2-0.
