Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Koln will be aiming to make amends for a massive loss to Borussia M’gladbach when they welcome Augsburg to their RheinEnergieStadion on Matchday 10. The Billy Goats are eager to stay in top ten, and they are surely capable of matching the Bavarians in front of home fans. Dejan Ljubicic has joined the likes of Tim Lemperle, Timo Horn, Sebastian Andersson, Julian Chabot, and Mathias Olesen in the recovery room, while Florian Kainz serves a one-game ban.
Augsburg, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late, with the team collecting ten points in total from the last four league fixtures. The WWK Arena outfit, though, are not regarded as good travellers, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Koln this time out. Forward Mergim Berisha is back from suspension for the visiting team, but both Maximilian Bauer and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw are banned for Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Jonas Hector):
Jonas Hector is a product of Koln’s youth school. The left back was born on 27 May, 1990 in Saarbrucken and he began his youth career at SV Auersmacher. In 2010 he joined FC Koln and he made 63 league appearances for the reserve team between 2010 and 2013. Ever since he made his debut for the senior team on 27 August, 2012 he has been playing regularly for the Billy Goats and he certainly helped the team return to Bundesliga at the end of the 2013/2014 campaign.
Jonas Hector made his Germany debut on 14 November, 2014 in a 4-0 win over Gibraltar. The left-footed defender scored his first goal for the German national team on 29 March, 2016 in a 4-1 victory over Italy in Munich.
Hector represented his homeland at the 2016 European Championship finals in France and he scored the winner from the penalty spot in the quarter-final against Italy. Hector is capable of playing as a midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
