There will be fireworks when Real Sociedad and Athletic Club face each other in the Basque derby on Saturday evening. La Real kicked off 2023 in style, with the team eliminating Logrones in the Copa del Rey, while beating Almeria in their last league match, and it is no wonder the odds for home win have been dropping. A man to watch in the home team will be Alexander Sorloth, who scored his sixth goal of the season at the weekend, while Brais Mendez is back from suspension.
The Lions, on the other hand, failed to turn their dominance into victory in a goalless draw with Osasuna, with the team dropping to seventh place in the standings.
