Sporting Kansas City
Following a 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls, San Jose Earthquakes will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Sporting Kansas City on Sunday morning. San Jose have been impressive at home ground this season, and, as a result, the bookies see them as favourites to beat the Wizards at their PayPalPark. All Daniel, Niko Tsakiris, and Nathan Cardoso are out of contention through injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Wizards, on the other hand, are desperate to record their first win of the process, but given their difficulties in front of goal, we do not believe that San Jose will have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Sporting’s injury list includes the likes of Nemanja Radoja, Kayden Pierre, Tim Leibold, Gadi Kinda, Logan Ndenbe, and Kortne Thompson-Ford.

After spending the greatest part of his career at Derby County, Johnny Russell joined Sporting Kansas City in 2018. Russell was born in Glasgow, the capital of Scotland, on April 8, 1990 and he started his youth career at Dundee United.
The 178-cm tall attacker was producing fine performances for the Scottish side from 2007 to 2013 when he moved to Derby County. The Rams booked their place in the Championship on several occassions, but they eventually failed to secure promotion to the Premier League. As a result, Johnny Russell decided to move to MLS, signing a three-year deal with Sporting Kansas city on January 31, 2018.
The Scotland international made his debut for the Wizards in the opening match of the 2019 season against New York City. Speaking of his debut for the national team, he played his first game for Scotland in November 2014 in a 3-1 loss to England. His main position is left winger, but he is capable of playing as both centre-forward and right winger as well.

San Jose Earthquakes are members of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. The Quakes have been participating in the league since 1996 and they won their first MLS Cup trophy in 2001. Back then San Jose outplayed star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy in the title game, but it has to be noted that they scored the winner in the extra time.
Two years later the Quakes managed to repeat the success, with the team beating Chicago Fire in the 2003 MLS Cup final. Avaya Stadium is the home ground of San Jose Earthquakes and the capacity of the venue is 18.000. The construction of the stadium cost no less than $100 million and the venue was opened in March, 2015. The club’s home colors are blue and black, whilst the Quakes wear white and red shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels.
Chris Wondolowski is the club’s biggest star and he has been playing for San Jose Earthquakes since 2009. The USA ace has 121 league goals on his account ahead of the start of the 2017 season.
