Arena Lublin will host Thursday’s Conference League game between Zorya Luhansk and Gent. The Ukrainians play home games on a neutral location and it is no surprise the odds for away triumph have been dropping. Given Zorya’s poor performance in a 2-1 defeat to Metalist 1925, home win should not be considered. Gent, on the other hand, have big ambitions for the 2023/2024 Conference League campaign.

Belgian defender Sven Kums began his youth career at Dilbeek Sport and in 1996 he joined Anderlecht. Despite spending seven years at the club, he did not see any game action with the Belgian giants at senior level. After ending his loan spells with the likes of Lierse and Kortrijk, he signed a permanent deal with de Kerels in 2008.
The 176-cm-tall midfielder, who was born on 26 February, 1988, scored 12 goals in 116 league appearances for Kortrijk and in 2011 he moved to Netherlands, signing a contract with Heerenveen. In 2013 he returned to Belgium, joining Zulte Waregem.
In the summer of 2014 he moved to fellow Belgian outfit Gent and at the end of the 2015/2016 season he signed a loan deal with Udinese. Kums has 12 caps for Belgium U21 and it has to be noted that his father Ludo Kums is working as a coach at Anderlecht. Sven Kums is a centre midfielder, but he plays as both attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder as well.

Zorya are a professional football club that compete in the Ukrainian Premier League. The club was founded in 1923 and in 1972 they won Soviet Top League. Speaking of competitions in Ukraine, Zorya made it to the cup final in the 2015/2016 season, with the team losing to Shakhtar Donetsk (0-2) in the title game.
Despite suffering the loss to the Miners in the Ukrainian Cup final, Zorya made it to the Europa League group stages. It has to be noted that the Ukrainian team played out a 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce on their debut in the group stages of the European competition. Slavutych Arena has been the home ground of the club since 2014 and you should bear in mind that they played at Avanhard Stadium from 1951 to 2014.
