Our prediction for this Championship match:
Plymouth will look to get their revenge on Leeds United for the FA Cup loss when the two sides face each other in the Championship round 33. The Pilgrims are tough to beat at home, with the team suffering only three defeats at their Home Park this term, but they are still seen as the underdogs in Saturday’s encounter. Mikel Miller is widely expected to sneak into the starting XI after scoring as a substitute against the Sky Blues, while both Bundu and Cooper should miss out with injuries.
The Whites, on the other hand, are eyeing their fifth consecutive win in all competitions. Leeds United rolled over Swansea City 4-0 in their last away game and given Plymouth’s attacking potential on home soil, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. Daniel Farke is unlikely to make changes to the team that crushed the Swans in the midweek clash.
Highlighted Player (Liam Cooper):
Liam Cooper is a Scotland international, who was born in Kingston Upon Hull, England. Cooper was eligible to play for both England and Scotland, but he decided to represent the Scotts on the international stage.
The Leeds United defender, who is capable of playing at left and centre back, received his first ever call-up for Scotland on 10 March 2016 for a friendly match against Denmark, but he did not make his debut for the senior team back then. Liam Cooper began his career at Hull City and, after spending several seasons on loan at Carlisle United and Huddersfield Town he joined Chesterfield in 2013.
On 13 August, 2014, he signed a three-year deal with Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of individual honours, Liam Cooper was named Young Player of the Year for the 2007/2008 season (Hull City). It has to be noted that he won Football League Two with Chesterfield in the 2013/2014 season.
Highlighted Team (Plymouth):
Nicknamed the Pilgrims, Plymouth are a professional football club that host their rivals at Home Park. The stadium, which can hold up to 18,600 people, was built in 1892 and opened the following year. Plymouth footballers wear dark green jerseys and white shorts when playing in front of home fans, while light green and white are the dominant colours of their away kit.
The Pilgrims made it to the FA Cup semi-finals in the 1983-84 season, with the team advancing to the Football League Cup semis on two occasions (1964-65, 1973-74). The Pilgrims recorded their biggest win against Millwall on January 16, 1932, with the team beating the Lions 8-1, and they repeated the success in 1994 as they rolled over Hartlepool United in the Second Division.
The club suffered their heaviest defeat against Stoke City (0-9) on December 17, 1960. Fellow Devon teams Exeter City and Torquay United are seen as the club’s fiercest rivals.
