Our prediction for this Championship match:
Norwich City will be aiming to build on a 4-2 win over Watford when they take on Cardiff City in the Championship round 33. The Canaries are eager to climb to the playoffs berth and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the South Wales outfit. Defender Shane Duffy remains in the recovery room, but he should be the only absentee in the home team.
The Bluebirds, on the other hand, have suffered four defeats in the previous five league matches and that is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the home side. Both Mark McGuinness and Callum ODowda are out of contention with injuries, while Yakou Meite is a major doubt after limping off with injury in the midweek defeat to WBA. You should bear in mind that Norwich City defeated Cardiff City 3-2 at Cardiff City Stadium in the first half of the season.
Highlighted Player (Grant Hanley):
Grant Hanley is Scottish footballer who plays for Norwich City as defender. Hanley was born in Dumfries, Scotland, on November 20, 1991 and he started his youth career at Queen of the South. After ending his spells with Crewe Alexandra and Rangers, the Scottish player joined English club Blackburn Rovers, where he started his senior career.
After scoring eight goals in 183 appearances for the Riversiders in league matches, he moved to fellow English club Newcastle United in July, 2016 for an undisclosed fee. Grant Hanley, though, made no more than 10 appearances for Newcastle United in the Championship before joining Norwich City. The 191-cm-tall defender made his full international debut for Scotland against Wales on in May, 2011.
He scored his first goal for the Scotland national football team in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales. His contract with Norwich City should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.
The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.
The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
