Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Wrexham will be eager to halt their streak of three consecutive games without a win as they prepare to take on Accrington on Matchday 36. The Red Dragons have a chance to climb to the automatic promotion berth and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Accy Stanley. Eoghan O’Connell limped off with injury in the last league match, with Ben Tozer likely to replace him in the starting XI.
The Accy Stanley, meanwhile, failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to Crawley Town and Walsall, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the automatic promotion hopefuls. To make things even worse for the away team, forward Korede Adedoyin suffered an injury in the last league match. Anjola Popoola is widely expected to replace the Nigeria international in the starting eleven.
Highlighted Team (Accrington):
Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
