Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 win over Las Palmas, Almeria will look to keep their survival hopes alive when they take on Osasuna on Matchday 30. The Andalusians did well to record their first win of the season before the international break and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of Saturday’s encounter. The good news for the hosts is that both Edgar Gonzalez and Dion Lopy are back from suspension, while Luis Suarez and Ibrahima Kone remain in the recovery room.
Meanwhile, los Rojillos suffered a dip in form in Primera Division, with the team losing to both Girona and Real Madrid in the previous two league matches. Osasuna are stuck in the middle of the table and seeing that they have little to play for in the remainder of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the relegation strugglers. As for the visiting side, Iker Munoz is pushing for a start, while Lucas Torro serves a one-game ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards.
Highlighted Player (David Garcia):
David Garcia is a Spanish player who started his youth career at Maspalomas. After making 65 appearances for Vecindario in lower leagues, he joined Las Palmas in 2003. David Garcia is a centre back, but he is capable of playing as a right back if needed. He was born on 25 February, 1982 and it is more than obvious that he dedicated his football career to Las Palmas.
Garcia made his professional debut in September, 2013 in a 2-1 victory at Elche. However, he made no more than seven league appearances for Las Palmas in the 2003/2004 season. David Garcia, though, quickly established himself as a first-team regular and it has to be noted that he played 394 league games for los Amarillos until the 2016/2017 season.
He made 37 appearances for Las Palmas in the 2014/2015 Segunda Division campaign, helping the team secure promotion to the Spanish top flight, but he played no more than 19 games for the club in the 2015/2016 Primera Division campaign. His contract with Las Palmas expires on 30 June, 2017.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
