Zalgiris will be aiming to defend their slim lead in the tie with VPS when the two teams take on each other at LFF stadionas on Thursday afternoon. The Lithuanians won the first leg 2-1 thanks to Yuri Kendysh’s late goal and, no doubt, they are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of VPS. With no fresh injury worries to report, Vladimir Cheburin is unlikely to make changes to the team that faced the Finns a week ago.
The visiting side, on the other hand, face a tough challenge in the reverse fixture and given Mikko Pitkanen’s suspension, home win should definitely be considered. Miika Niemi is widely expected to replace Pitkanen in the starting XI. Suriname international Gleofilo Vlijter is pushing for a start as well after coming as a substitute in the first leg.
