Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Fiorentina and Lazio take on each other at Stadio Artemio Franchi in Sunday’s matinee. The Viola produced a fine display in their last league match, but Atalanta eventually came from behind to grab all three points. Fiorentina are determined to get back on course as soon as possible, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for Raffaele Palladino’s troops. The 40-year-old tactician should have a full squad to choose from.
The capital club, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 2-1 win over Verona. The Biancocelesti, though, continue with their old habit of struggling on the travels, losing to Udinese in their first away game and, taking everything into account, there is a big value in betting on the home side. In their last meeting in Florence Fiorentina defeated Lazio 2-1, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. Lazio forward Taty Castellanos has overcome his minor injury.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Lazio):
Lazio Roma are an Italian football club based in Rome. Lazio were founded in 1900 and they compete in the Serie A. The Biancocelesti (The White and Sky Blues) have won two Serie A trophies (1973/1974, 1999/2000), while lifting six Coppa Italia titles.
The capital club play their home games at Stadio Olimpico and Roma are regarded as Lazio’s main rivals.
The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy. Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco.
The likes of Pavel Nedved, Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastian Veron, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Roberto Mancini, Giuseppe Signori, Miroslav Klose and Simone Inzaghi are notable footballers who played for Lazio in the past.
