Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Reims will be aiming to build on a thrilling 3-0 win over Le Havre when they take on Olympique Lyon in the Ligue 1 round 12. Les Rouges et Blancs did well to put an end to their three-game losing run before the international break, meaning that they are high on confidence ahead of Saturday’s clash. Defender Emmanuel Agbadou serves a one-game ban, while both Mohammed Daramy and Reda Khadra miss out with injuries.
Les Gones, on the other hand, did well to beat St Etienne in the Derby Rhône-Alpes, but beating Reims on the road is easier said than done. Anyhow, given Lyon’s attacking potential, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on both teams to score this time out. Pierre Sage should have a full squad to choose from, except for injured midfielder Mahamadou Diawara. Veteran Alexandre Lacazette is widely expected to lead the line for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Saïd Benrahma):
Said Benrahma is an Algeria international who started his club career at Nice. The pacey winger made his Ligue 1 debut during the 2013/2014 season and after scoring 3 goals in 17 appearances for les Aiglons in the French top flight, he moved to the Championship team Brentford in the summer of 2018.
Said Benrahma was born in Ain Temouchent, Algeria on August 10, 1995 and it has to be noted that he played for the likes of Angers, Gazelec Ajaccio and Chateauroux on loan before joining the Griffin Park outfit. The Algerian footballer impressed in the 2018/2019 Championship season, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists for his teammates.
His main position is right winger, but he is used as a left winger as well. Speaking of his international career, Said Benrahma made his debut for the Algeria national team on October 13, 2015 in a 1-0 win over Senegal.
Highlighted Team (Reims):
Reims are a French football club founded in 1931. Reims welcome their rivals at Stade Auguste Delaune, which can hold up to 21,684 people. Believe it or not, Reims won six Ligue 1 titles (1948/1949, 1952/1953, 1954/1955, 1957/1958, 1959/1960, 1961/1962). To make things even better for the fans, Reims participated in the European Cup final on two occasions.
In 1956 they faced Real Madrid in the title game and despite taking the lead after six minutes, the French side eventually suffered a 4-3 loss to los Blancos at Parc des Princes. Three years later Reims had a chance to get their revenge on Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants once again won the European Cup, with Mateos and Di Stefano finding the net in the 2-0 victory over Albert Batteux.
The club’s most notable footballer is Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals for France at the 1958 FIFA World Cup finals. Reims’ home colours are red and white, with the team wearing white when playing on the road.
