The Rovers have suffered four defeats in the previous five league matches and, no doubt, they are desperate to find their best form before the New Year. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but talented forward Sam Taylor is pushing for a rare start.

Tranmere were founded back in 1884 under the name of Belmont FC, with the football arms of cricket clubs Lyndhurst Wanderers and Belmont coming together.
