Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
Kortrijk will be aiming to build on a 2-0 win at St. Truiden when they take on Mechelen in the opening match of the Jupiler League day 6. De Kerels have been having their ups and downs of late, but, no doubt, Saturday’s triumph gave them a confidence boost. Talented attacker Pape Habib Gueye, who opened his goal-scoring account at the weekend, is pushing for a start, while goalkeeper Maxim Deman remains in the recovery room.
Mechelen, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Gent, with the team beating St. Gilloise 3-1 in their last league match. De Kakkers, though, are not regarded as good travels, and we do not believe that they are capable of picking up all three points from Friday’s game. Midfielder Vinicius Costa, who suffered an injury at the weekend, is unlikely to feature against Kortrijk.
