Our prediction for this Bundesliga 2 match:
Heidenheim play host to Ingolstadt at their Voith-Arena in the 2. Bundesliga round 19. Heidenheim aim to build on a 2-1 win over Paderborn, with the team eyeing their tenth triumph of the season. Forward Gianni Mollo is sidelined with injury, but he should be the only absentee in the home side. You should know that Frank Schmidt’s troops are on a three-game winning run on home soil.
Ingolstadt, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Dynamo Dresden, and they managed to get one. The rock-bottom side are ten points behind the safe zone, and seeing that they will go for a win in Sunday’s clash as well, we are tempted to put our money on over 2.5 goals. All Fatih Kaya, Yassin Ben Balla, Tobias Schrock, and Caniggia Ginola Elva are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Marvin Matip):
Marvin Matip was born in Bochum on 25 September, 1985 and he began his senior career at Bochum. He played 33 league games for the reserve team, while making just one appearance for the first team. In 2005 he joined Koln and in 2010 he was sent on loan to Karlsruher. After ending his loan spell with Karlsruher, the right-footed centre back signed a contract with Ingolstadt.
Matip was born in Germany, but seeing that his father is Cameroonian, he decided to represent the African team on the international stage. The Karlsruher defender, who is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well, make his Cameroon debut on 2 June, 2013 in a friendly against Ukraine. However, it has to be noted that he has 22 caps for Germany U21 team.
He played for Germany at the 2006 U21 European Championship. Marvin Matip scored two goals in 33 appearances for Ingolstadt in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign. His contract with Ingolstadt expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Ingolstadt):
Ingolstadt is a German football club from the city Ingolstadt which is located in the Bayern region. The club was founded in 2004 after a fusion between ESV Ingolstadt and MTV Ingolstadt. In the season 2014/2015 Ingolstadt managed to qualify for the Bundesliga for the first time in the clubs history. FC Ingolstadt plays it’s home games in the Audi-Sportpark stadium which holds a capacity of 15 500 seats and is one of the smallest stadiums in the highest German football division.
The club colours of Ingolstadt are red and black which is a combination of the ESV Ingolstadt and MTV Ingolstadt kit. Ingolstadt is known as Die Schanzer by it’s fans. In the club history Ingolstadt didn’t manage to win any prizes. The bigest achievement of the club was on Sunday 17th of May 2015 where the club got promoted to the Bundesliga after beating Red Bull Leipzig and got crowned as the champion of the 2.Bundesliga.
The achievements of Ingolstadt are very impressive for a club that is only active since 2004. Currently Ingolstadt doesn’t have any very known players. Manager Ralph-Hasenhuttl does have a legendary status in Ingolstadt being the manager who promoted his club to the Bundesliga.
