Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Borussia Dortmund will look to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Borussia M’gladbach when they take on Augsburg at Signal Iduna Park on Matchday 7. Marco Rose’s men failed to impress in their last league match, but it has to be noted that both Marco Reus and Erling Haland missed the clash with injuries. The duo, though, should be fit for the Augsburg game, and we predict that the title-chasing hosts will return to winning ways on Saturday.
The likes of Brandt, Can, and Reyna could play some part in the Signal Iduna Park clash as well. The Bavarians, on the other hand, are on a quest to secure yet another Bundesliga survival, but that is easier said than done. Augsburg sit in the danger zone ahead of the trip to Dortmund, and seeing that key players return for the hosts, the underdogs are unlikely to grab something from the match. All Iago, Finnbogason, Uduokhai, and Moravek are sidelined with injuries, while Sarenren-Bazee has been tested positive for coronavirus.
Highlighted Player (Marco Reus):
Marco Reus is a German football player who was born on 31 May, 1989. The pacey attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a winger as well, started his senior career at Rot Weiss Ahlen and it has to be noted that he made 43 league appearances for the club in lower leagues.
In 2009 he signed a four-year contract with Borussia M’gladbach and he scored his first Bundesliga goal against Mainz on 28 August, 2009. After impressing with the Fohlen in the 2011/2012 Bundesliga campaign, he joined Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season. He has been playing for the Millionaires ever since and he represents Germany on the international stage as well.
However, he was more than unfortunate to miss the 2014 FIFA World Cup with injury when Joachim Low’s team lifted the prestigious trophy. To make things even worse for Marco Reus, he was forced to withdraw from the Germany Euro 2016 squad as well (injury). The German ace has a contract with Borussia Dortmund which expires on 30 June, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
