Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
RheinEnergieStadion will host Saturday’s Bundesliga game between Koln and Arminia Bielefeld, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. Koln are eyeing a spot in European competitions, while Arminia are fighting hard to secure the elite division survival. The Billy Goats proved their worth in back-to-back wins over Mainz and Borussia M’gladbach, and, it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to beat die Arminien on home soil.
There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but Sebastian Andersson is a major doubt following his recent positive test for coronavirus. Arminia, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest in the season finale, and seeing that Koln are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the visitors are unlikely to grab something from the match. All Kunze, Laursen, Lasme, Brunner, Kruger, and Klos should miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Ellyes Skhiri):
After spending his youth career at Montpellier, Ellyes Skhiri continued playing for la Paillade at senior level. In 2019 he moved to Bundesliga side Koln, signing a four-year contract with the Billy Goats. Shkiri was born in Lunel, France on May 10, 1995, but he has a dual citizenship as his parents are of Tunisia descent.
The Koln midfielder made debut with the Tunisian national team in a 1-0 win over Iran on March 23, 2018 and he represented Tunisia at the FIFA World Cup finals in Russia later that year. Ellyes Skhiri’s main position is defensive midfielder, but he is capable of producing fine performances at both right and centre back.
His preferred foot is right and he has a contract with Koln until June 30, 2026. The Tunisia international made his Bundesliga debut on August 17, 2019 in a 2-1 loss to Wolfsburg and he scored his first ever goal in the German top flight in a 2-1 win over Freiburg on August 31, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Arminia Bielefeld):
Arminia Bielefeld is a German club founded on May 3, 1905. Die Arminen play home games at Bielefelder Alm. The venue was built in 1926, and it can hold up to 26,515 spectators. Arminia Bielefeld have yet to win the Bundesliga trophy, but they did well to lift the West German Cup title on two occasions (1966, 1974).
Back in 1922 they won the Western German football championship, with the team repeating the success the following year. Arminia Bielefeld wear dark blue shirts when playing at home ground, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2019/20 season Arminia returned to the Bundesliga, where they undisputedly belong.
Bruno Labbadia is considered one of the most famous footballers who played for the club. The ex Bayern Munchen attacker scored 50 goals in 98 appearances in the league for Arminia Bielefeld. Labbadia has two caps for the German national team, and six for the West Germany U21.
