Our prediction for this Championship match:
Barnsley and Sheffield United face each other at Oakwell in a highly-anticipated Championship game. The Tykes have been playing some low-scoring games of late, with under 2.5 goals being netted in six of their last seven league fixtures. Both Adeboyejo and Palmer are pushing for a start, while the likes of Andersen, Benson, and Morris are out of contention with injuries.
The Blades, on the other hand, aim to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Millwall. Considering that Sheffield United are not regarded as good travelers, we believe that there is a big value in betting on under 2.5 goals. Conor Hourihane suffered a serious injury in the midweek defeat, while fellow midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White will have to serve his one-game ban against Barnsley. Anyhow, a low-scoring affair is on the cards at Oakwell.
Highlighted Player (Patrick Schmidt):
Patrick Schmidt is an Austria international who plays for Championship club Barnsley as a forward. Born in Eisenstadt, Austria on July 22, 1998 Schmidt began his senior career at Admira Wacker. After making 46 appearances for Admira Wacker II, the 179-cm tall striker started playing for the first-team in the 2016/2017 Austrian Bundesliga season.
Three years later Patrick Schmidt decided to take a step forward in his football career as he signed a four-year deal with Barnsley. The full-of-pace forward scored eight goals in the 2018/2019 season for Admira and he is widely expected to shine with the Tykes in the 2019/2020 Championship campaign. It has to be noted that Schmidt played for Austria U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams.
The Barnsley attacker currently represents Austria U21 team in international matches. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
