Our prediction for this Championship match:
Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday face each other in the Championship round 24 in what is expected to be a close encounter. The Sky Blues did well to beat Millwall on the road in their last league match, but they were eliminated by Norwich City in the FA Cup last 64. Coventry City played out a goalless draw with each of their previous three rivals at home ground, and yet another low-scoring affair is on the cards.
The Owls, on the other hand, are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in all competitions. Since Sheffield Wednesday have been impressive at the back of late as well, we are tempted to put our money on under 2.5 goals. It has to be noted that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of their last seven meetings between the two teams. Wednesday midfielder Josh Windass, who suffered an injury in a 1-0 win over Derby, remains in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Wesley Jobello):
Wesley Jobello is a Martiniquais professional footballer who plays for Coventry City in the English Football League One. He was born in Gennevilliers, France, on the 23rd of January 1994. The 26-year-old is a Marseille youth product, having featured for both the club's first team and the b-team over 50 times.
His debut appearance came as a substitute against Sochaux in Ligue 1 match on the 20th of May 2012. Apart from Marseille, his resume includes playing for teams Clermont Foot and Gazelec Ajaccio. He signed for Coventry City on the 30th of June 2019, on a three-year contract. Jobello has played ten games for the English outfit so far, providing a goal and an assist apiece in the process. Incidentally, Coventry marks his first time playing outside France.
On the International forefront, Jobello, initially a youth International for France, represented the nation at the under-18 level before switching to play for The Martinique national football team. His International career highlight is getting selected for Martinique's 40 man squad for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Jobello is predominantly a left midfielder but is capable of playing on the right as well.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield Wednesday):
Sheffield Wednesday are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Sheffield (South Yorkshire). The Owls compete in the English second tier (Championship) and they play their home matches at Hillsborough.
The venue was the scene of the Hillsborough disaster which occurred in 1989 when 96 Liverpool supporters were crushed to death in the FA Cup semi-final. It has to be noted that the World Cup (1966) and the Euro (1996) matches were played at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday have won four First Division trophies (1902/2903, 1903/1904, 1928/1929, 1929/2930) and they finished the 1960/1961 campaign in second place in the standings. The Owls have clinched three FA Cup trophies (1896, 1907, 1935), with the team winning the League Cup in 1991.
Sheffield Wednesday defeated English giants Manchester United (1-0) in the title game. Sheffield United are regarded as the Owls’ main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Steel City derby.
