Our prediction for this Championship match:
Huddersfield Town play host to Birmingham City at their John Smith’s Stadium in what is expected to be a close Championship encounter. The Terriers have been struggling at the back of late, with the team conceding nine goals in total in the previous three league matches and, no doubt, they are low on confidence ahead of Saturday’s relegation six-pointer. Kian Harratt remains on the sidelines through suspension, while all Jonathan Hogg, Radinio Balker, Yuta Nakayama, and Josh Ruffels are out of contention with injuries.
The Blues, on the other hand, are one point behind the safe zone. As the visitors will go for a win in Saturday’s clash as well, we are tempted to place our bets on both teams to score. Koji Miyoshi is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while both Alfie Chang and Lucas Jutkiewicz are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Team (Huddersfield):
Back in 1926 Huddersfield Town became the first English club to win three straight domestic trophies. Since 1908 the Terriers were playing at Leeds Road, but in 1994 John Smith’s Stadium became home of Huddersfield Town. The club play in the English second tier (Championship) and the colour of the their home kit is blue and white (stripes).
Huddersfield Town were founded in 1910 and just three years later they entered the Football League. In 1926 the Terriers won their last domestic trophy, but they did well finishing runners up in the FA Cup 1920. The club’s biggest rivals are Leeds United and it has to be noted that Huddersfield Town have better head-to-head record of the two teams.
Bradford City are considered Huddersfield’s local rivals as well, but there are small rivalries with Barnsley, Halifax Town, Manchester City and Oldham Athletic. The club’s chairman is Dean Hoyle.
