Our prediction for this Championship match:
Millwall play host to Swansea City at the Den on day 24 of the new Championship campaign. The Lions have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating Birmingham at home, while losing to both Hull City and Peterborough on the road. The capital club are undefeated in the previous five home fixtures, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the Boxing Day clash.
Both Connor Mahoney and Ryan Leonard are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team. The Swans, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing each of their last three league fixtures. Considering that Millwall are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the Swans are unlikely to grab something from the Boxing Day game. Defender Ethan Laird should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Shaun Hutchinson):
Shaun Hutchinson is a professional footballer who plays for Milwall as a centre-back. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne (England) on November 23, 1990, he began his youth career at Wallsend Boys Club. In 2007 he moved to Motherwell and he made his first-team debut for the Scottish club on May 16, 2009 against Hamilton Academical.
After making 121 appearances in the league for Motherwell, Shaun Hutchinson returned to England in 2014, signing a deal with Championship club Fulham. Hutchinson played no more than 30 games for the Cottagers before joining fellow capital club Millwall on June 21, 2016.
He made his debut for the Lions against Peterborough United on August 16, 2016 and he has been playing for the club ever since. Shaun Hutchinson’s main position is centre-back, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. The Millwall defender has a contract with the club which expires on June 30, 2018 and it has to be noted that his preferred foot is left.
