Our prediction for this Championship match:
Weston Homes Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Peterborough United and Blackpool, the two bottom-table sides. The Posh aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Nottingham and Millwall, but they have little to play for in the last game of the season. All Jones, Poku, and Randall are pushing for recalls, while the likes of Morton, Thompson, Benda, Norburn, and Butler remain in the recovery room.
The Seasiders, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team sharing the spoils with Luton, beating Barnsley, while losing to Derby. Blackpool aim to finish the season in style, and we predict that they will take advantage of Peterborough’s shaky defence. James Husband has joined the likes of Daniel Grimshaw, Dujon Sterling, and Grant Ward in the treatment room, speaking of the away side.
Highlighted Player (David Cornell):
Born in Waunarlwydd, Wales on March 28, 1991, David Cornell is a goalkeeper who plays for Northampton Town in the League Two. The 180-cm tall shot-stopper is a product of the Swansea City football school, but he did not make any appearances for the Swans at senior level.
Cornell played for the likes of Port Talbot Town, Hereford United, St. Mirren, and Portsmouth on loan before signing a permanent contract with Oldham Athletic in the 2015/2016 season. In the summer of 2016, he joined Northampton Town on a two-year deal.
Speaking of his international career, David Cornell has three caps with the Wales U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. The Northampton Town goalkeeper wears the number 1 jersey, and his preferred foot is right. He has a contract with the Cobblers until June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Blackpool):
Blackpool FC are a professional English club based in Blackpool, Lancashire. Considering that Blackpool is a seaside town, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Seasiders. Founded back in 1887, the club play their home matches at Bloomfield Road, which can hold up to 17,338 spectators. In the 2009/2010 season Blackpool secured promotion to the Premier League, but they were not competitive at this level, suffering relegation to the Championship the following season.
The club’s biggest success, though, came in 1953 when they defeated Bolton Wanderers 4-3 in the FA Cup final. Blackpool are well known for their orange shirts, but the dominant colour of their away kit is white. Preston are considered the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the West Lancashire derby.
Charlie Adam, who played for Liverpool and has 26 caps for Scotland national team, is regarded as one of the club’s most notable players.
