Our prediction for this Championship match:
After failing to spoil Fulham’s party at Craven Cottage, Peterborough will look to keep their survival hopes alive when they face Hull City on Saturday afternoon. The Posh are eight points behind the safe zone, but keep in mind that they have a couple of games in hand. Defender Hayden Coulson is back from suspension, while both Mark Beevers and Dan Butler are sidelined with injuries.
The Tigers, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to rock-bottom Barnsley. Since Peterborough want this win more than Hull City, we predict that the relegation-threatened hosts are going to emerge triumphant in Saturday’s clash. Both Docherty and Smith are pushing for a start, while all Matt Ingram, Lewie Coyle, Andy Cannon, Josh Emmanuel, and Mallik Wilks are out of contention through injuries for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (David Cornell):
Born in Waunarlwydd, Wales on March 28, 1991, David Cornell is a goalkeeper who plays for Northampton Town in the League Two. The 180-cm tall shot-stopper is a product of the Swansea City football school, but he did not make any appearances for the Swans at senior level.
Cornell played for the likes of Port Talbot Town, Hereford United, St. Mirren, and Portsmouth on loan before signing a permanent contract with Oldham Athletic in the 2015/2016 season. In the summer of 2016, he joined Northampton Town on a two-year deal.
Speaking of his international career, David Cornell has three caps with the Wales U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. The Northampton Town goalkeeper wears the number 1 jersey, and his preferred foot is right. He has a contract with the Cobblers until June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
