Our prediction for this Championship match:
Norwich City and Coventry City lock horns at Carrow Road in what is expected to be an interesting Championship contest. The Canaries have been producing fine displays in recent festive fixtures, beating both Millwall and Luton Town, while sharing the spoils with QPR and, as a result, the odds for home win have been dropping. Anis Ben Slimane has joined the likes of Liam Gibbs and Josh Sargent in the recovery room, with Ante Crnac likely to step up.
The Sky Blues, on the other hand, head into Saturday’s game following back-to-back draws with Millwall and Cardiff City. As Coventry City have been struggling on the road of late, conceding seven goals in total in the last three away games, there is a big value in betting on Norwich City. In their last meeting at Carrow Road, Norwich City defeated Coventry City 2-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. Tatsuhiro Sakamoto is rated doubtful for the away team after limping off with injury in Wednesday’s draw with Cardiff.
Highlighted Player (Robbie Brady):
Robbie Brady is an Irish footballer who plays for Norwich City as a winger, but he is capable of playing at left back as well. Brady began his youth career at St. Kevin’s Boys, where he was spotted by Manchester United scouts. In 2008 he joined the Old Trafford outfit at age 16.
He played for Manchester United U-18 team, but he did not make his debut for the senior team. The Irish footballer played for Hull City on loan in the 2011/2012 and the 2012/2013 Championship campaigns and in January, 2013 he signed a permanent deal with the Tigers for an undisclosed fee. Robbie Brady made his Republic of Ireland debut on 8 September, 2012, in a 4-1 win over Oman and it has to be noted that he scored one goal and provided two assists for his teammates in the victory over the Asian team.
He represented the Boys in Green at the 2016 European Championship finals and he scored the winner against Italy that helped the team make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament.
Highlighted Team (Oxford United):
Oxford United are one of the oldest clubs in the League One as they were founded back in 1893. However, Oxford United adopted their current name 67 years later and have been playing under it ever since.
Over the years the Yellows have built a great rivalry with Swindon Town and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two sides. Oxford United play home matches at Kassam Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 12,500. The stadium was built in 1997 and has been Oxford United’s home ground ever since. The Boys from Up the Hill are well known for their yellow and blue colours, but they play their away games in dark blue (with a little yellow) or black kits.
Oxford’s player with the most league appearances is John Shuker, playing 478 games for the club from 1962 to 1977. On the other hand, Jim Magilton is the club’s most capped player in internationals, playing 18 games for Northern Ireland.
