Our prediction for this Championship match:
Tuesday’s Championship game at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium pits together Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City, the two teams who are level on points in the Championship standings. The Hoops aim to put an end to their three-game losing run, and they are surely capable of matching the Blues in front of home fans. The capital club were on the verge of sharing the spoils with WBA at the weekend, but the Baggies eventually scored a later winner at the Hawthorns.
Both Stefan Johansen and Jordy De Wijs could miss out after they limped off with injuries at the weekend, with Osman Kakay and Andre Dozzell pushing for a start. Lee Wallace and Sam Field remain in the recovery room. Birmingham City suffered a dip in form as well, with the team collecting only one point in total from the previous three league fixtures. Since the Blues are eager to return to winning ways as well, both teams to score betting option should be considered. The good news for the visitors is that Gary Gardner returns from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Tom Carroll):
Tom Carroll is a professional English footballer who plays for Swansea City as a midfielder. The 177-cm tall is a product of Tottenham football academy and it has to be noted that he made 27 appearances for Spurs at senior level, scoring one goal. He found the net in a 3-0 win over Norwich City in the 2015/2016 season.
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers, Tom Carroll signed a permanent deal with the Swans in the winter of 2017. Tom Carroll has 17 caps for England U21 team, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team.
His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both left and right midfielder as well. Tom Carroll’s preferred foot is left and his contract with the Welsh outfit should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Birmingham City):
Birmingham City are a club located in the city of Birmingham, England. Birmingham City were founded in 1875 as Small Heath Alliance, but the club’s named was changed to Small Heath in 1888. 17 years later they became Birmingham and in 1943 they finally changed their name to Birmingham City.
The Blues welcome their rivals at St. Andrew’s, the stadium that was opened in 1906. Birmingham City compete in the Championship and their fiercest rivals are WBA and Aston Villa. The Blues made it to the FA Cup final twice, but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy. In 1931 they were beaten by their local rivals WBA in the title game (1-2), whilst in 1956 they were outplayed by Manchester City in the title game.
The colour of Birmingham’s home kit is blue with white stripe. Trevor Francis, Gil Merrick, Bob Latchford, Jeff Hall, Alex Govan, Joe Bradford and Christophe Dugarry are notable footballers who played for the St. Andrew’s outfit in the past.
