Our prediction for this Championship match:
After suffering elimination in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, Queens Park Rangers, will be fully focused on the Championship in upcoming weeks. The Hoops play host to Ipswich Town at their Lotus Road on Matchday 3 and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the clash against the promotion hopefuls. Jack Colback is a major doubt, while both Jimmy Dunne and Jake Clarke-Salter remain in the treatment room.
The Tractor Boys, on the other hand, made a promising start to the season, with the team beating both Sunderland and Stoke City in the Championship, while eliminating Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup. Ipswich are more of a team than QPR and even though Gareth Ainsworth’s men are tough to beat at home, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors. Kieran McKenna has the luxury of selecting from a complete and healthy squad.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Archer):
Jordan Archer is an English goalkeeper who plays for Millwall in the Championship. Archer started his career in the youth team of Charlton Athletic and he moved to Tottenham Hotspur football academy in 2009. However, he did not see a first-team football at White Hart Lane as he was inmeditely sent on loan to Harrow Bourough (2011).
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Bishop’s Storford, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton he signed a loan deal with Millwall in 2015 and he was soon offered a permanent contract with the capital club. Jordan Archer made 39 appearances for the Lions in the 2016/2017 League One campaign and it has to be noted that he managed to keep 11 clean sheets n the process.
Millwall secured promotion to the Championship at the end of the season as they defeated Bradford City in the final of the League One play-offs. Jordan Archer was born in Walthamstow, England on April 12, 1993.
Highlighted Team (Ipswich):
Ipswich Town are an English football club that was formed in 1878. Portman Road has been the home ground of Ipswich Town since 1894 and the capacity of the venue, which was expanded in 2002, is 30,311. The Tractor Boys compete in the Championship, but they used to play in the English Premier League in the past as well. Ipswich Town last appeared in the elite division in the 2001/2002 season.
Ipswich won the FA Cup in 1978, with the team beating Arsenal (1-0) in the title game. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1981 when they outplayed AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup final. It has to be noted that the Tractor Boys have yet to suffer a loss at home ground in the European competitions.
Norwich City are regarded as Ipswich Town’s bitterest rivals and it is well known that the two sides take on each other in the East Anglian derby.
