Our prediction for this Championship match:
Loftus Road will host Tuesday’s Championship game between Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. QPR have been slipping down the standings week by week, with the team collecting only three points in total from the last five league fixtures. January signing Chris Martin could make his full Queens Park debut against Sunderland after scoring as a substitute in a 2-1 loss to Millwall, while both Chris Willock and Leon Balogun are sidelined with injuries.
The Black Cats, on the other hand, did well to beat Reading thanks to Patrick Roberts’s late goal on Matchday 31, and we predict that they will take advantage of QPR’s poor form as well. As for the visiting side, Ross Stewart remains on the sidelines with a long-term injury, with Lynden Gooch, Elliot Embleton, and Corry Evans missing out as well.
Highlighted Player (Jordan Archer):
Jordan Archer is an English goalkeeper who plays for Millwall in the Championship. Archer started his career in the youth team of Charlton Athletic and he moved to Tottenham Hotspur football academy in 2009. However, he did not see a first-team football at White Hart Lane as he was inmeditely sent on loan to Harrow Bourough (2011).
After ending his loan spells with the likes of Bishop’s Storford, Wycombe Wanderers and Northampton he signed a loan deal with Millwall in 2015 and he was soon offered a permanent contract with the capital club. Jordan Archer made 39 appearances for the Lions in the 2016/2017 League One campaign and it has to be noted that he managed to keep 11 clean sheets n the process.
Millwall secured promotion to the Championship at the end of the season as they defeated Bradford City in the final of the League One play-offs. Jordan Archer was born in Walthamstow, England on April 12, 1993.
Highlighted Team (Sunderland):
Sunderland are a professional football club that have been playing their home games at the Stadium of Light since 1997. The capacity of the stadium is 49,000, but before expansion the original ground capacity was 42,000. Red and White shirts are Sunderland’s trademark and the club’s fiercest rivals are Newcastle United. The two local rivals have been contesting in the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898 and there have always been fireworks in what is one of the greatest derbies in English football. Sunderland were on the verge of dropping to the Championship in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but experienced tactician Sam Allardyce eventually helped the team avoid relegation.
The Black Cats have won six First Division trophies (now the Premier League), with the team lifting two FA Cup titles. Sunderland won their first FA Cup trophy in 1937, with the team beating Preston North End 3-1 in the title game. The club was founded in 1879 as Sunderland and District Teachers A.F.C.
