Our prediction for this Championship match:
Loftus Road will host Tuesday’s Championship game between Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City, the two bottom-table sides. The Swans are eager to escape the danger zone, but their display in the South Wales derby is not giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the trip to London. Both Liam Walsh and Steven Benda remain in the recovery room, but there are no suspended players in the Welsh outfit.
The Hoops, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Sunderland. Since the capital club are eager to move away from the danger zone, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Midfielde Jack Colback is banned for the hosts, while defender Jimmy Dunne has yet to overcome a shoulder injury. In their last meeting in the English second tier the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.
Highlighted Player (Joe Allen):
Joe Allen is another high-quality footballer from the new generation of Wales internationals, who was part of the team that took Swansea from League One to the Premier League, and he had no problems adapting to arguably the strongest league championship in Europe.
Allen operated as a deep-lying playmaker as the Swans impressed upon reaching the elite division, with his excellent passing skills persuading Liverpool to splash £15 million on his services. The central midfielder didn’t exactly manage to develop into an indispensable member of the side at Anfield, but he is considered an important squad player and has always performed well when called upon.
Meanwhile, he has been one of the pillars of the most successful team in the Wales history together with Gareth Bale, Ashley Williams and Aaron Ramsey, while even representing Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Allen started five games for the Dragons as they secured the first ever appearance at the European Championship finals.
Highlighted Team (QPR):
Queens Park Rangers are well known as QPR. The capital club was founded in 1886 and Loftus Road Stadium is QPR’s ground. Loftus Road Stadium was opened in 1904 and the capacity of the venue 18,439. However, it has to be noted that no less than 35,353 spectators watched the game between QPR and Leeds on 27 April, 1974.
The Hoops finished the 1975/1976 First Division campaign in second position in the standings, just behind champions Liverpool. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but Queens Park Rangers made it to the FA Cup final in 1982 as well.
QPR were beaten by fellow capital club Tottenham Hotspur in the title game, but they did well to lift the League Cup trophy in 1967. Queens Park’s main rivals are Brentford, Chelsea and Fulham, but other clubs based in London are considered QPR’s rivals as well. The colour of QPR’s shirts is blue and white.
