Rotherham United play host to Wycombe Wanderers at their Aesseal New York Stadium in the Championship round 40. The Millers have been having their ups and downs in the Championship of late, with the team beating both Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City, while losing to Watford and Millwall. Rotherham United sit in the relegation zone ahead of Monday’s clash, but keep in mind that they have four games in hand.
Anyhow, the Millers will not have a better chance than this to get back on course in the Championship. Richard Wood is banned for the match, while Joe Mattock is rated doubtful. The Chairboys, on the other hand, picked up vital three points from Friday’s game against Blackburn Rovers. Both Jordan Obita and Dominic Gape are sidelined with injuries, but given their anything but good away record, home win should be considered.

Born in Harlow, England on September 28, 1992, Adam Thompson is a defender who plays for Bury in League One. Thompson started his youth career at Watford and after making 14 appearances for the Hornets at senior level, he moved to Southend United, signing a permanent deal with the club in January, 2014.
It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet on loan as well before joining the Shakers. Adam Thompson has a short loan spell at Bradford City in the 2017/2018 season, but he made no more than nine appearances for the Bantams. Despite being born in England, Adam Thompson decided to represent Northern Ireland in international matches.
He made his debut with the Northern Ireland national team on February 9, 2011, coming from the bench in a 3-0 loss to Scotland. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine showings at right-back as well.

Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
