Our prediction for this Championship match:
High-flying Sheffield United will look to extend their winning run to four games when they host Queens Park Rangers to their Bramall Lane on Monday evening. The Blades have found their best form of late, and we are positive that they are going to find the net on Matchday 22. Ireland international David McGoldrick, who found the net in a 3-2 win over Cardiff City, will be the man to watch in the home team, while Rhian Brewster, Robin Olsen, and Jack O’Connell continue to miss out.
The Hoops, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Stoke, and seeing that they will go for a win in Monday’s clash as well, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. The likes of Lyndon Dykes, Lee Wallace, Jordy de Wijs, and Sam McCallum are out of contention with injuries for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Jack Rodwell):
Once an exciting midfielder talent who left his boyhood club Everton for Manchester City in 2012, Jack Rodwell has been attracting plenty of criticism over the past couple of years due to the lack of playing time and refusal to leave the Etihad, despite being on the margins with Citizens.
Rodwell joined Everton’s academy when he was eight and soared through the ranks to emerge as one of the key players for the Merseyside club during his five-year stay with the Toffees. A talked-about £15 million move to City turned into a largely disappointing two-year stint with the Citizens, before Rodwell moved to Sunderland.
Having largely struggled to replicate his flying form from his time at Everton, Rodwell signed for the Championship club Blackburn Rovers in 2018 for the remainder of the season, in a bid to get his career back on track. Rodwell represented England through all youth ranks up to the senior side, for which he only managed three caps.
Highlighted Team (QPR):
Queens Park Rangers are well known as QPR. The capital club was founded in 1886 and Loftus Road Stadium is QPR’s ground. Loftus Road Stadium was opened in 1904 and the capacity of the venue 18,439. However, it has to be noted that no less than 35,353 spectators watched the game between QPR and Leeds on 27 April, 1974.
The Hoops finished the 1975/1976 First Division campaign in second position in the standings, just behind champions Liverpool. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but Queens Park Rangers made it to the FA Cup final in 1982 as well.
QPR were beaten by fellow capital club Tottenham Hotspur in the title game, but they did well to lift the League Cup trophy in 1967. Queens Park’s main rivals are Brentford, Chelsea and Fulham, but other clubs based in London are considered QPR’s rivals as well. The colour of QPR’s shirts is blue and white.
