The Saints aim to build on a 2-1 win over Plymouth and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Che Adams should keep his place in the starting XI after scoring a late winner against the Pilgrims, while all Will Smallbone, Armel Bella-Kotchap, and Juan Larios remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The Hoops, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Ipswich Town, with the team taking no more than two shots on target. Since Southampton have turned their stadium into a real fortress, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Jack Colback is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while both Jake Clarke-Salter and Jimmy Dunne are out of contention with injuries.
