Our prediction for this Championship match:
Stoke City play host to Cardiff City at their Bet365 Stadium on day 22 of the new Championship campaign. The Potters were having their ups and downs before the World Cup break, with the team beating both Wigan and Luton, while losing to Birmingham and WBA. Australia international Harry Souttar is back from international duty, while Saturday’s clash comes too early for Nick Powell, who limped off with injury in the defeat to West Brom.
Experienced forward Dwight Gale is widely expected to replace Powell in the starting XI. The Bluebirds, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, and given their difficulties at the back in back-to-back losses to Hull City (2-3) and Sheffield United (0-1), we are tempted to put our money on the home side. Both Philogene-Bidace and Isaak Davies miss out with injuries for the away side.
Highlighted Player (Aden Flint):
Born in Pinxton, England on July 11, 1989, Aden Fint began his youth career at his hometown club Pinxton. In 2008 he moved to Alfreton Town and he scored 45 goals in more than 100 appearances for the club.
In 2011 he signed a contract with Swindon Town and, no doubt, that was a step up in his career. The 197-cm-tall defender played 64 games in the league for the Robins and in 2013 he signed for Bristol City for a fee of £300,000. Aden Flint made his debut on August 3, 2013 in a 2-2 draw with Bradford City.
The centre-back scored his first goal for Bristol city on September 21 in a 3-2 loss to his former club Swindon Town. You should know that Flint was named Player of the Year for the 2015/2016 season. The Bristol City footballer has a contract with the club which expires on June 30.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.
The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.
The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
