Our prediction for this Championship match:
Swansea City welcome Blackpool at their Swansea.com Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Saturday’s program. The Swans made a slow start to the season, but they recorded four wins in the previous six league fixtures. Bournemouth proved to be a big catch for Russell Martin’s troops before the international break, but the Welsh outfit are surely capable of beating the Seasiders on home soil. Keep in mind that Russell Martin should have a full squad to choose from.
Blackpool, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers. The Seasiders are only one point behind the Championship playoffs berth, but given Swansea’s four-game winning run at home, we do not believe that the underdogs are capable of grabbing something from the match. To make things even worse for Blackpool fans, all Keogh, Stewart, Ward, Lavery, Maxwell, Hamilton, and Virtue should miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Korey Smith):
After spending his youth career at Norwich City, Korey Smith made his first-team debut for the Canaries in January 2008 in the FA Cup clash against Charlton Athletic. Smith played 67 league games for Norwich City and he scored 4 goals for the club, but in 2013 he signed a two-year deal with Oldham Athletic.
The midfielder who was born on 31 January, 1991, scored one goal in 42 appearances for the club in the 2013/2014 campaign and on 27 June, 2014, he joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee. It has to be noted that he won Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with the Robins in his first season with the team.
Korey Smith was born in Hatfield, England and he has two younger sisters, Alice and Harriet. Smith is a defensive midfielder, but he is capable of operating as central midfielder and right back as well. The Bristol City footballer also represented the likes of Barnsley and Yeovil Town (on loan) in the past.
Highlighted Team (Blackpool):
Blackpool FC are a professional English club based in Blackpool, Lancashire. Considering that Blackpool is a seaside town, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Seasiders. Founded back in 1887, the club play their home matches at Bloomfield Road, which can hold up to 17,338 spectators. In the 2009/2010 season Blackpool secured promotion to the Premier League, but they were not competitive at this level, suffering relegation to the Championship the following season.
The club’s biggest success, though, came in 1953 when they defeated Bolton Wanderers 4-3 in the FA Cup final. Blackpool are well known for their orange shirts, but the dominant colour of their away kit is white. Preston are considered the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the West Lancashire derby.
Charlie Adam, who played for Liverpool and has 26 caps for Scotland national team, is regarded as one of the club’s most notable players.
