Our prediction for this Championship match:
Swansea City will be aiming to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Coventry City when they take on Bristol City on Matchday 33. The Swans did well to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive, and we are positive that they will go for a win against Bristol City as well. Even though Benda, Cullen, Morris, Routledge, and Rushesha are sidelined with injuries, home win should be considered as Swansea City have been impressive at their Liberty Stadium this season.
The Robins, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Middlesbrough, and they managed to get one. Bristol City aim to move closer to the playoffs berth, but given Swansea’s home record, we are tempted to put our money on Andre Ayew and Co. All Baker, Walsh, and Weimann are sidelined with injuries, while Adelakun, Dasilva, and O’Dowda should recover in time to face Swansea.
Highlighted Player (Korey Smith):
After spending his youth career at Norwich City, Korey Smith made his first-team debut for the Canaries in January 2008 in the FA Cup clash against Charlton Athletic. Smith played 67 league games for Norwich City and he scored 4 goals for the club, but in 2013 he signed a two-year deal with Oldham Athletic.
The midfielder who was born on 31 January, 1991, scored one goal in 42 appearances for the club in the 2013/2014 campaign and on 27 June, 2014, he joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee. It has to be noted that he won Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with the Robins in his first season with the team.
Korey Smith was born in Hatfield, England and he has two younger sisters, Alice and Harriet. Smith is a defensive midfielder, but he is capable of operating as central midfielder and right back as well. The Bristol City footballer also represented the likes of Barnsley and Yeovil Town (on loan) in the past.
Highlighted Team (Bristol City):
Bristol City are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Bristol. Formed in 1894 the Robins mostly participated in English lower leagues and they have never played in the Premier League. Bristol City’s bitterest rivals are Bristol Rovers and it has to be noted that two teams first met in 1897. Bristol City have outplayed their local rivals on 43 occasions in the Bristol Derby.
Cardiff City are regarded as Bristol City’s bitter rivals as well. The Robins play their home games at Ashton Gate, the stadium that was opened in 1887. Bristol City were semi-finalists of the League Cup two times (1970/1971, 1988/1989), with the team making it to the FA Cup final in 1909.
The Robins faced Manchester United in the title game, but they failed to upset the English giants in the Crystal Palace clash. It is well known that Bristol City footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts.
