Crvena Zvezda
Leipzig and Crvena Zvezda face each other at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday evening in what is expected to be a David-vs-Goliath clash. The Red Bulls aim to build on a 3-1 win over Darmstadt and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at the Serbian champions. One of the men to watch in the home team will be summer signing Lois Openda, who scored a brace at the weekend, while defender Willi Orban remains on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The Red and Whites, on the other hand, have been struggling at the back under new boss Barak Bakhar and given their poor performance in a hard-fought win over Javor Ivanjica, anything but a routine home win would be big surprise. Korea international In-Beom Hwang should recover in time to face Leipzig, while Stefan Mitrovic is pushing for a start.

Timo Werner is a German starlet, who began his senior career at Vfb Stuttgart. The German forward, who was born in Stuttgart on March 6, 1996, scored 13 goals in 95 appearances in the league for Die Schwaben and in 2016 he moved to fellow Bundesliga side Leipzig and he impressed with the Red Bulls in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 21 goals in the process.
To make things even better for the talented attacker, he represented Germany at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and it has to be noted that he provided an assist for Lars Stindl in the title game. Despite the fact that coach Joachim Low rested star players at the tournament in Russia, the Germans eventually won the trophy.
Timo Werner played for the Germany U17 team as well and he won the silver medal with die Mannschaft at the 2012 UEFA European Championship. His main position is centre forward, but he is used as a winger as well. Timo Werner’s contract with Leipzig should expire on June 30, 2020.

Crvena Zvezda are the most famous club in Balkans. The Crveno-beli have 19 Yugoslav First League titles and have won eight domestic trophies since the breakup of Yugoslavia. Crvena Zvezda won their last league title in the 2015/2016 season, with the team finishing the campaign no less than 28 points clear of Partizan.
Speaking of Partizan, the Crno-beli are considered Crvena Zvezda’s bitterest rivals and the two teams meet in the “Eternal derby” (Veciti derbi). The capital club did well to win the European Cup title in 1991, with the team beating Olympique Marseile on penalties in the title game. That is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that the Serbian club won the International Cup later in 1991.
