Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Leipzig and PSG face each other in a highly-anticipated Champions League game at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls aim to get their revenge on les Parisiens for the 3-2 loss at Parc des Princes, and we are positive that the hosts will adopt yet another attack-minded approach. Denmark international Yussuf Poulsen should keep his place up front after finding the net in a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, while all Brobbey, Halstenberg, Klostermann, and Saracchi should miss out with injuries.
Mauro Pochettino’s troops, on the other hand, came from behind to beat Lille in the Ligue 1 derby at the weekend. PSG star Leo Messi is a major doubt after suffering an injury in the triumph over les Dogues, while Paredes, Ramos, Rico, and Verratti remain in the recovery room. Kylian Mbappe, though, should be fit for Wednesday’s clash, and that is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the Ligue 1 leaders.
Highlighted Player (Willi Orban):
Willi Orban was born on 3 November, 1992 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Orban plays as a centre back, but he can operate as a defensive midfielder as well. The 185-cm-tall footballer is a product of Kaiserslautern’s youth academy and he played 35 league games for the reserve team between 2011 and 2013.
Orban made his debut for the first team in 2011, against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The Kaiserslautern footballer made 68 league appearances for Kaiserslautern, scoring 7 goals for the German outfit between 2011 and 2015, but in May 2015 he signed a contract with Leipzig. Kaislerslautern fans were very angry with the defender when he decided to join die Bullen.
Willi Orban has two caps for Germany U21, but he has yet to make his debut for the senior team. He has a contract with Leipzig, which expires on 30 June, 2019. Willi Orban has a dual citizenship (Germany, Hungary).
Highlighted Team (PSG):
Formed by the merger of Paris FC and Stade Saint-Germain in 1970, Paris Saint-Germain or as they call it PSG is the most successful club in French football with 31 domestic titles to their name. Having won six Ligue 1 title so far, a record ten Coupes de France, a record six Coupes de la Ligue, six Trophees des Champions and one Ligue 2 title, PSG are also one of only two French clubs to ever win a European title.
Les Parisiens were crowned UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup champions back in 1995-96, while their last European trophy was the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup. Beginning of the new millennium was particularly hard for the celebrated club who flirted with relegation in 2000s before they were bought by the Quatar Sports Investments group in 2011 when the rebirth of the Paris Saint-Germain as we know it today began.
Following heavy squad investments and team boosting, PSG won their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years with Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost singlehandedly leading his side towards the trophy with 30 goals. Having established domestic dominance, PSG now set their sights on winning the Champions League which remains an elusive dream for the club from Paris.
