Our prediction for this Champions League match:
All eyes will be on Parc des Princes when Paris Saint-Germain face each other in an eagerly-awaited Champions League game. Les Parisiens continue with their habit of producing excellent displays at home ground, while struggling on the travels and, no doubt, they want to keep their 100% record in “the City of Lights” intact. Pacey full-back Achraf Hakimi is one yellow card away from suspension, whereas all Marquinhos, Warren Zaire-Emery, Marco Asensio, Sergio Rico, and Nuno Mendes remain in the recovery room.
The Magpies, meanwhile, failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to Borussia Dortmund and seeing that they head into Tuesday’s clash with a severely-weakened squad, home win should be considered. Sandro Tonali continues to miss out through suspension, while all Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Matthew Targett, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, and Harvey Barnes remain in the treatment room. Strikers Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak, though, should be fit for the Champions League showdown.
Highlighted Player (Kylian Mbappé):
Kylian Mbappe is a French footballer who plays for Paris Saint-Germain as a forward. The French rising star began his youth career at AS Bondy and in 2013 he moved to AS Monaco. After making 12 appearances for Monaco B, Kylian Mbappe made his debut for the senior team in 2015. Mbappe quickly established himself as a regular goalscorer, with the teenager finding the net 15 times in 29 appearances in the Ligue 1 in the 2016/2017 season.
In 2017 he moved to fellow French club PSG on loan, with the option of making the deal permanent. Kylian Mbappe scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for les Parisiens in the 2017/2018 and it has to be noted that Unai Emery’s troops eventually won the national championship.
Speaking of his international career, Mbappe played an important role for France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, with the pacey rising star scoring a brace in a thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina in the last 16 of the showpiece tournament. The PSG attacker was born in Paris on December 20, 1998.
Highlighted Team (Newcastle):
Newcastle United failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign and, as a result, they dropped to the English second tier. The Magpies will host their rivals at their St. James’ Park in the 2016/2017 Championship campaign and it has to be noted that the capacity of the stadium is 52,354.
Newcastle United have won four domestic trophies (1904/1905, 1906/1907, 1908/1909, 1926/1927), while lifting six FA Cup titles (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955) and a number of star players were part of the St. James’ Park outfit in the past.
David Ginola, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Nolberto Solano, Gary Speed, Obafemi Martins and Kevin Nolan are notable footballers who are still remembered at the club. Newcastle’s fiercest rivals are Sunderland and there have always been fireworks when the two local rivals face each other in the Tyne-Wear derby. The color of Newcastle’s home kit is black and white.
