Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Wolfsburg will be aiming to put an end to their three-game winless run in Group G when they take on Salzburg at their Wolkswagen Arena. The Wolves are high on spirits ahead of Tuesday’s clash as they outplayed Bayer Leverkusen on the road in their last league match. Wolfsburg are desperate to record their first win of the process, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at the Red Bulls. All Bialek, Mehmedi, Roussillon, Schlager, and Waldschmidt are out of contention with injuries, while both Klinger and Weghorst should miss out through illness.
Salzburg, on the other hand, did well to beat Wolfsburg 3-1 in front of home fans, and seeing that they have been scoring goals for fun in all competitions of late, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Argentina international Capaldo is banned for the match, while all Junuzovic, Koita, Piatkowski, Sesko, Solet, and Vallci are sidelined with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Kevin Mbabu):
Born in Chene-Bougeries, Switzerland on April 19, 1995, Kevin Mbabu is a defender who plays for Young Boys. Mbabu started his youth career at Servette and he continued playing for les Grenats at senior level. However, it has to be noted that he made no more than one appearance for Servette in the league during the 2012/2013 season.
Kevin Mbabu then joined Premier League side Newcastle United and after spending two seasons on loan at Rangers and Young Boys, he signed a permanent deal with the Stade de Suisse outfit in 2017. His main position right back, but he is used as both centre and left back as well.
Mbabu is eligible to play for Switzerland, DR Congo and France due to his mixed descent, but he decided to represent the Rossocrociati at senior level. Mbabu made his Switzerland debut in September, 2018 in a 6-0 win over Iceland. His contract with Young Boys should expire in June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Salzburg):
Salzburg are a professional football club that compete in Austrian Bundesliga. The club’s main sponsors are Red Bull and, as a result, they are well known under the name of the Red Bulls. The club was founded on 13 September, 1933 and they won their first Austrian Bundesliga trophy in 1994.
Salzburg quickly established themselves as the dominant force in the national championship and they are the most successful Austrian club in the 21st century. It has to be noted that they won their tenth Austrian Premier League trophy in 2016, finishing the season nine points clear of second-placed Rapid Wien.
The Red Bulls welcome their rivals at Red Bull Arena, the stadium that was opened on 8 March, 2008. The capacity of the venue is 31 895. Salzburg participated in the 1993/1994 UEFA Cup final, but Italian side proved to be a big catch for the Austrian outfit. Inter recorded a 2-0 win over Salzburg in the final (on aggregate).
