Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Poblense and Villarreal square off against each other in a David-vs-Goliath clash in the Copa del Rey round 1. The Yellow Submarine head into Tuesday’s game following a 2-1 win over Real Valladolid and they are seen as hot favourites to beat the lower-league side as well. Even though manager Marcelino is expected to mix the squad, away win should be considered as the Yellows have strength in depth. All Gueye, Bernat, Terrats, Pino, and Ayoze Perez should be recalled to the starting XI.
The Tercera RFEF side, on the other hand, will have a mountain to climb in the midweek clash. Poblense are likely to adopt a defence-minded approach in Tuesday’s clash, but given the number of high-profile forwards in Marcelino’s team, anything but a routine away win would be a big surprise. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be experienced attacker Aitor Pons, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late.
