Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
A place in the EFL Cup round 3 will be at stake when Bristol City and Norwich City square off against each other at Ashton Gate Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Robins have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating Millwall, losing to Birmingham City, while sharing the spoils with Hull City. Defender Robert Dickie is back from suspension, while all Tommy Conway, Rob Atkinson, and Ayman Benarous remain in the recovery room. Ross McCrorie is unlikely to be risked in the EFL Cup clash.
The Canaries, on the other hand, have been scoring goals for fun in the new Championship campaign, with the team netting seven goals in total in back-to-back wins over Millwall (3-1) and Huddersfield (4-0). Since Bristol City hammered Oxford United 5-1 in round 1, both teams to score betting option should be considered. The likes of Sorensen, Tomkinson, Sainz, and Hanley are injured for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Grant Hanley):
Grant Hanley is Scottish footballer who plays for Norwich City as defender. Hanley was born in Dumfries, Scotland, on November 20, 1991 and he started his youth career at Queen of the South. After ending his spells with Crewe Alexandra and Rangers, the Scottish player joined English club Blackburn Rovers, where he started his senior career.
After scoring eight goals in 183 appearances for the Riversiders in league matches, he moved to fellow English club Newcastle United in July, 2016 for an undisclosed fee. Grant Hanley, though, made no more than 10 appearances for Newcastle United in the Championship before joining Norwich City. The 191-cm-tall defender made his full international debut for Scotland against Wales on in May, 2011.
He scored his first goal for the Scotland national football team in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Wales. His contract with Norwich City should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Bristol City):
Bristol City are one of the two famous clubs from the city of Bristol. Formed in 1894 the Robins mostly participated in English lower leagues and they have never played in the Premier League. Bristol City’s bitterest rivals are Bristol Rovers and it has to be noted that two teams first met in 1897. Bristol City have outplayed their local rivals on 43 occasions in the Bristol Derby.
Cardiff City are regarded as Bristol City’s bitter rivals as well. The Robins play their home games at Ashton Gate, the stadium that was opened in 1887. Bristol City were semi-finalists of the League Cup two times (1970/1971, 1988/1989), with the team making it to the FA Cup final in 1909.
The Robins faced Manchester United in the title game, but they failed to upset the English giants in the Crystal Palace clash. It is well known that Bristol City footballers wear red shirts and blue shorts.
