Buoyed by a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers, Wycombe will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Sutton in the EFL Cup round 2. The Chairboys defeated MK Dons 2-0 in their EFL Cup opener and given their signs of improvement in front of goal, home win should be considered. Veteran forward Garath McCleary is widely expected to return to the starting XI after scoring as a substitute at the weekend, while there are no fresh injury concerns in the home team.
The Yellows, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest, with the team losing each of their last four league matches. Since Sutton conceded seven goals in total in the previous three League Two games, we are tempted to put our money on Wycombe. As always, a man to keep an eye on in the visiting team will be Omari Patrick, who scored his third goal of the season in a 3-1 loss to Newport County at the weekend.

Sam Vokes began his professional career at Bournemouth and after scoring 16 goals in 54 appearances for the Cherries, he moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2008. He signed a four-year deal contract with the Wolves, but was quickly sent on loan to Leeds United. After spending enjoying loan stints with Bristol City, Sheffield United, Norwich City, Burnley and Brighton, he signed a permanent contract with the Clarets for a fee of £350k.
Sam Vokes impressed in the 2013/2014 Championship campaign, with the Wales international scoring 20 goals in the process. He was struggling with injuries in the 2014/2015 Premier League campaign and, as a result, he failed to find the net for Burnley in 15 appearances in the English top flight. Vokes found his best form in the 2015/2016 season and thanks to his 15 goals the Clarets returned to the English elite division.
Sam Vokes was born and raised in England, but his grandfather was born in Wales and, as a result, he made his debut for the Dragons on 28 May, 2008 in a 1-0 win over Iceland. Vokes helped Wales reach the Euro 2016 semi-finals, scoring in the 3-1 quarter-final win over Belgium.

Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
