Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Linfield will be aiming to get their revenge on Shelbourne for the Champions League defeat when the two teams face each other in the Conference League playoffs, first leg. The Reds faced no difficulties in the Champions League double-header with Linfield and, as a result, they are seen as favourites to win Thursday’s encounter. The good news for the hosts is that goalkeeper Conor Kearns has overcome his injury, but both Sean Boyd and Tyreke Wilson remain in the treatment room.
The Blues, on the other hand, did well to beat Vikingur of Faroe Islands in the previous qualifying round. Shelbourne, though, do not suit Linfield and that is the main reason why we are going to place our bets on the home team. With no fresh injury concerns to report, Linfield boss David Healy is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated Vikingur 2-0.
