Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Slavia Prague and Fenerbahce square off against each other at Sinobo Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Thursday’s program. Slavia did well to shock Fener in Istanbul (3-2), and the Czechs are now on a quest to defend their slim lead in the return leg. Both Hromada and Jurasek are back from domestic bans, while Ondrej Lingr misses out with injury.
Anyhow, Slavia Prague are likely to book their place in the Conference League last 16 as they are tough to beat at home. The Turks, on the other hand, face an uphill task in the second leg as they need to overcome a one-goal deficit at Sinobo Stadium. Considering that Fenerbahce are not regarded as good travelers, we are going to put our money on the Czech outfit this time out. All Kahveci, Luiz Gustavo, Novak, and Ozil should miss out with injuries for the away side.
Highlighted Player (Ondrej Kolar ):
Born in Liberec, Czech Republic on October 17, 1994, Ondrej Kolar is a towering goalkeeper who plays for Slavia Prague. Kolar started his youth career at his hometown club Liberec, and he continued playing for the White-Blues at senior level.
After making 30 league appearances for the club, he move to Slavia Prague in 2018. It has to be noted that he played for Varnsdorf on loan as well during his spell with Liberec. The Czech shot-stopper has established himself as a first-team regular at Slavia Prague where he became the most expensive goalkeeper in the Czech First League history.
Speaking of his international career, the 193-cm-tall goalkeeper made his debut for the national team on November 17, 2019 in the Euro 2020 qualifying match against Bulgaria. His preferred foot is right, and he wears the No. 1 jersey at Slavia Prague. His contract with the capital club should expire in June 2022.
Highlighted Team (Fenerbahce):
Fenerbahce are one of the biggest football clubs in Turkey. The Kanaryalar were founded on 3 May, 1907 as Fenerbahce Futbol Kulubu. Fener won their first domestic trophy in 1959 and they quickly established themselves as one of the main forces in Turkish football.
In 2014 Fenerbahce clinched their 19th league title, with the team finishing the season nine points clear of Besiktas. Galatasaray are considered Fener’s bitterest rivals and the two teams face each other in Kitalar Arasi Derbi. The rivalry between the clubs started back in 1934, when a friendly between the two teams was abandoned due to riots. Besiktas are regarded as Fenerbahce’s big rivals as well.
The likes of Mujdat Yetkiner, Zeki Riza Sporel, Aykut Kocaman, Emre Belozoglu, Alex, Nicolas Anelka, Diego Lugano, Roberto Carlos and Dirk Kuyt are famous footballers who played for the club in the past. The Kanaryalar play their home games at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1908. Fener’s home kits are navy blue and yellow.
