Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Johan Cruijff Arena will host the Europa League clash between Ajax and Young Boys. The Amsterdammers did well to eliminate Lille in the last 32, and bookies see them as favourites to win the upcoming two-legged tie as well. Dusan Tadic, who found the net in a 3-1 win over Groningen at the weekend, will be the man to keep an eye on in the home team. Goalkeeper Onana remains on the sidelines through suspension, while both Brobbey and Mazraoui are likely to miss the game with injuries.
Pacey winger Antony is widely expected to return to the starting XI. Young Boys, on the other hand, did well to beat Bayer Leverkusen in the previous round, but Ajax are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the Swiss champions than their previous rivals. The good news for the visitors is that Cameroon international Nsame returns from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Daley Blind):
Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on March 9, 1990, Daley Blind is a professional footballer who plays for Eredivisie club Ajax. Blind is a product of the famous football school, and he made his debut with the Amsterdammers on December 7, 2018, against Volendam.
After a short loan spell with Groningen, Daley Blind join Premier League giants Manchester United for a fee of £13.8 million in August, 2014. After scoring four goals in 90 league appearances for the Red Devils, the Dutch footballer returned to Ajax in the summer of 2018. Speaking of his international career, Daley Blind made his Netherlands debut on February 6, 2013 in a 1-1 draw with Italy.
The following year the left-footed footballer represented Netherlands at the FIFA World Cup. He opened his goal-scoring account with the Oranje in a 3-0 loss to Brazil in the third-place play-off. As for his personal life, it has to be noted that Daley Blind is the son of the former Ajax defenders and the Netherlands boss Danny Blind.
Highlighted Team (Young Boys):
Just five years after its foundation Young Boys won their first Swiss Super League trophy (1903). The capital club won no less than 11 domestic trophies in the 20th century, but they have been in Basel’s shadow in the last two decades. Young Boys won their last Swiss Super League title back in 1986, while lifting their last Swiss Cup trophy in 1987.
The Yellow and Blacks welcome their rivals at Stade de Suisse, which acts as a national stadium and it has to be noted that they play their home games on artificial turf. Swiss football legend Stephane Chapuisat played for the club in the past and you should bear in mind that former Yugoslavia coach Vujadin Boskov played for the Stade de Suisse outfit in the past as well.
Young Boys played their first official game on 29 June, 1898 and they shared the spoils with Institute Grunau back then. The Swiss team participated in the 2016/2017 Champions League qualifiers, but they failed to make it to the group stages of the elite competition.
