Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Brann Stadion will host Thursday’s Europa League qualifier between Brann and AEK Larnaca, the two teams that meet for the first time in European competitions. The Norwegians survived Hacken in the third qualifying round, but their display in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Tromso is giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of AEK’s visit. Midfielder Ulrik Mathisen serves a one-game ban, while both Opsahl and Torsvik remain in the recovery room.
The Cypriotes, on the other hand, are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but given their difficulties on the road, we are tempted to place our bets on Brann this time out. It is worth mentioning that AEK Larnaca are still without a victory in their three away fixtures in the Europa League qualifiers. To make things even worse for the visiting side, defender Jeremie Gnali is banned for the first leg.
