Our prediction for this Europa League match:
High-flying Lazio will look to keep their 100% record in the 2024/2025 Europa League campaign intact when they take on Ludogorets at Stadio Olimpico. The Biancocelesti head into Thursday’s clash following a 3-0 win over ten-man Bologna and they are seen as hot favourites to beat Ludogorets in front of home fans. Forward Tijjani Noslin is back from suspension, while both Nuno Tavares and Gaetano Castrovilli should miss out with injuries.
The Bulgarian champions, on the other hand, are sitting in the 34th place in the standings, with only one point on their account. As Ludogorets are not regarded as good travellers, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Lazio’s party in Rome. In their last meeting in the “Eternal City” Ludogorets defeated Lazio 1-0, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge. Both Caio Vidal and Pedro Naressi return from suspension for the Bulgarian outfit.
Highlighted Player (Elseid Hysaj):
Born on 2nd February 1994, Elseid Hysaj is an Albanian defender who has spent his entire professional career in Italian Serie A and he is predicted a bright future in the game. Empoli scouts spotted his talent while he was playing for Shodra youth sides, and after three years in the youth team, the full-back was promoted to the first team set up.
Hysaj performed really well in his first three years as a first team regular, helping the Azzurri gain promotion to the top fight in the process. One season in Serie A proved enough for the right-sided defender to secure a big club move as he joined Napoli in the summer of 2015 and immediately nailed down a regular starting berth.
Capable of doing dirty defensive work as well as making forward runs, Hysaj is a modern full-back, who is destined for big things. The talented footballer is already a key member of the Albania national team and he will represent the country at the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (Ludogorets):
Bulgarian football club PFC Ludogorets Razgrad, commonly referred to as Eagles, compete at the Ludogorets Arena with the capacity of 8,000. PFC Ludogorets Razgrad are owned by Kiril Domuschiev, who made it his personal goal to propel the club to domestic and international success and to hold up the Bulgarian flag high with nation’s biggest clubs Levski and CSKA going through turbulent times.
Having seen their stock rise astronomically since 2010, PFK Ludogorets Razgrad have become the first Bulgarian club to be features in the UEFA Champions League group stage twice. Previously, their maiden participation happened in 2014-15 season when the Bulgarian club made headlines due to notable results against FC Basel and Liverpool.
Their success on domestic scene has been equally impressive as PFC Ludogorets Razgrad remain the second team in the world to win a treble after being promoted from the second to the first league. Main force of the Bulgarian club are the Brazilian players, currently eight of them in the squad many of whom hold the Bulgarian citizenship.
