Our prediction for this Europa League match:
There will be fireworks when Ludogorets and Ajax lock horns in the Europa League final qualifying round, first leg. Ludogorets hammered Astana 5-1 to set up a meeting with the Dutch powerhouse and we are positive that the Bulgarian champions will stick to their attacking style of play in Thursday’s clash. Influential midfielder Kiril Despodov is back to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Cherno More at the weekend, whilst Claude Goncalves misses out through suspension.
The Amsterdammers, on the other hand, dropped two points in a 2-2 draw with Excelsior at the weekend, but given their attacking potential, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on both teams to score. Steven Berghuis is back from the domestic ban, while first-choice goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli misses out with a shoulder injury. Both Remko Pasveer and Ahmetcan Kaplan are major doubts.
Highlighted Player (Steven Bergwijn):
Steven Bergwin is a product of ASC Waterwijk football school, but in 2009 he was spotted by Ajax scouts. In 2011 he moved to PSG and he continued playing for the club’s reserve team at senior level. He made his debut with the senior team on May 20, 2015 in a 2-0 win over Heracles.
Over the years the Dutch footballer born in Amsterdam on October 8, 1997, has established himself as a first-team regular at PSV, earning a call-up for the national team as well. Steven Bergwijn made his Netherlands debut on October 12, 2018 in a 3-0 win over Germany. His main position is left winger, but he is used as both right winger and centre-forward as well.
His preferred foot is right and it has to be noted that his parents are of Suriname descent, he has a dual citizenship. Bergwijn scored 14 goals in 33 appearances for PSV in the 2018/2019 Eredivisie season.
Highlighted Team (Ludogorets):
Bulgarian football club PFC Ludogorets Razgrad, commonly referred to as Eagles, compete at the Ludogorets Arena with the capacity of 8,000. PFC Ludogorets Razgrad are owned by Kiril Domuschiev, who made it his personal goal to propel the club to domestic and international success and to hold up the Bulgarian flag high with nation’s biggest clubs Levski and CSKA going through turbulent times.
Having seen their stock rise astronomically since 2010, PFK Ludogorets Razgrad have become the first Bulgarian club to be features in the UEFA Champions League group stage twice. Previously, their maiden participation happened in 2014-15 season when the Bulgarian club made headlines due to notable results against FC Basel and Liverpool.
Their success on domestic scene has been equally impressive as PFC Ludogorets Razgrad remain the second team in the world to win a treble after being promoted from the second to the first league. Main force of the Bulgarian club are the Brazilian players, currently eight of them in the squad many of whom hold the Bulgarian citizenship.
