Our prediction for this FA Cup match:
A place in the FA Cup last 32 will be at stake when Birmingham City and Hull City go head to head at St. Andrew’s Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Blues are eager to put an end to their seven-game winless run in all competitions, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for Tony Mowbray’s troops. Talented Wales midfielder Jordan James is pushing for a start after the 19-year-old scored as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City, while all Marc Roberts, Ethan Laird, Alfie Chang, and George Hall continue to miss out with injuries.
The Tigers, on the other hand, aim to recover from a 2-1 loss to Hull City, but beating Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. As for the away team, both Adama Traore and Jean Michael Seri are on international duty.
Highlighted Player (John Ruddy):
John Ruddy is a goalkeeper who was born in St Ives, England on 24 October, 1986. He played for a number of English clubs in the past and he started his senior career at Cambridge United. After making 39 appearances for Cambridge, he signed a deal with Everton for a fee of £250,000.
However, he failed to establish himself as the team’s first-choice shoot-stopper and as a result, he spent a bit part of his career on loan at Walsall, Rushden and Diamonds, Chester City, Stockport County, Wrexham, Bristol City, Crewe Alexandra and Motherwell. In 2010 he made a right decision when he signed for Norwich city for an undisclosed fee as he was immediately given the number 1 shirt. Two years later he received his first England call-up as Roy Hodgson decided to bring him to Euro 2012 finals.
However, Ruddy was forced to withdraw from the squad through injury. John Ruddy is married to Laura and his nickname is “The Iceman”. He was named Norwich City Players’ Player of the Year for the 2011/2012 season.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
